Kenya: Maasai Mara Game Reserve | Lake Nakuru National Park 5 Days

Day 1: Nairobi / Masai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel. Depart for the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, stopping at the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley and at Narok town for lunch. Arrive in time for a late afternoon/early evening game drive in this ‘big game country’ famed worldwide for it’s high animal concentration, abundance and variety.

Day 2: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Early breakfast then proceed for a full day tracking game with your guide in this park whose landscape is savannah grassland on rolling hills. Virtually every type of animal is found in the Mara, which has an extensive road, and track network, which allows excellent photography and viewing opportunities, making it the best and most visited park in Kenya. We will cater for a picnic lunch at the hippo pool.

Day 3: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Early breakfast followed by a morning game drive. Lunch at the lodge or campsite. Afternoon option game drive or nature walk with our Maasai guides, at extra cost you may visit a local Maasai village to see their nomadic lifestyle.

Day 4: Maasai Mara Game Reserve / Lake Nakuru National Park

Early cup of tea or coffee then proceed on your final pre-breakfast game drive. Return to the lodge or campsite for a late breakfast then depart the Mara region for Nakuru, with lunch enroute.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru National Park / Nairobi city

After breakfast proceed on a game drive in Nakuru Park, which has prolific bird life including flamingos, white pelicans and the marabou stock among others. Waterbuck and Cape buffalo can be seen near the shoreline. Rothschild’s giraffe and the white rhino are additional attractions among other species of plains game and cats like lion. With lunch you may spot leopard, which is rather elusive. Lunch in Nakuru then depart for Nairobi arriving in the late afternoon or early evening.
